The Jimoh Kolawole Yussuf (JKY) Foundation has announced the sponsorship of the second phase of its tech empowerment programme at the One Innovation Hub (ONEIH) in Offa, Kwara State.
This was confirmed in exclusive and separate interactions with the Chief Operating Officer of the hub, Engr. Jide Kazeem Olatunde, and its Manager, Mr. Kolawole Wasiu Lawal.
According to Mr. Lawal, the initiative is designed for 40 secondary school students in Senior Secondary 1 (SS1) from public schools.
The programme, which emphasizes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, will run in two batches, with 20 participants per week.
“The first batch begins on Monday, December 9, and will run until Friday, December 13, 2024. The second batch will follow from Monday, December 16, to Friday, December 20,” said Lawal.
He added, “Students will be onboarded on the first day and screened to determine the specific programmes best suited for them.”
This phase builds on the success of a one-month training programme recently completed at ONEIH, which equipped 25 participants with essential tech skills.
The JKY Foundation, established in 2019 by the children of the late Alhaji Jimoh Kolawole Yussuf (JK) of the Sobaloju compound in Offa, is committed to advancing the community through initiatives in Infrastructure, Sports, and Education (ISE).
With this second phase, the foundation aims to further its mission of empowering young minds with skills for the digital age while promoting educational equity in Offa.
